Imminent invasion of Gaza to uproot HAMAS from the region

Written by Democracia Participativa on 14 October 2023. Posted in Headlines.

  • It is widely expected that Israel’s ground assault on Gaza will begin in the near future.

Israeli tanks amassing at Gaza border Tel Aviv, Oct. 14.– Israel’s war against Hamas has entered its eighth day, a week after the merciless assault by Hamas that left over 1,300 Israelis slain and at least 3,300 wounded. In the Gaza Strip, where 2,215 Palestinians have reportedly been killed since the war began, Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad are holding hostage more than 150 soldiers and civilians, including foreign nationals.

The U.S. is leading international efforts to organize humanitarian aid to Gaza and the evacuation of the wounded. Israel continues airstrikes as well as trading sporadic fire with Hezbollah forces in the country’s north.

After the Horror, Israel Must Now Decide the Question of Taking Over Gaza

Written by Haaretz on 11 October 2023. Posted in Headlines.

Gaza Strip mapThe shock from Hamas' assault is beginning to dissipate, but the purpose of Israel's action remains murky, whether it's neutralizing the terror group's military capabilities or toppling the regime – which would require occupying Gaza.

Tel Aviv, Oct.11.– On the fourth day of the war, one can hope that some change is taking shape, stemming partly from a change in Israel’s approach. The shock and paralysis that took hold after the surprise attack by Hamas and its horrific results are apparently beginning to abate.

Ukrainian forces launched a wave of missile attacks across the entire front

Written by Democracia Participativa on 13 July 2023. Posted in Headlines.

The counteroffensive is advancing steadily, albeit with strong Russian resistance.

Meanwhile, the Group of Seven (G7) Coalition and NATO signed agreements to offer Ukraine long-term security commitments during the NATO Summit in Vilnius on July 12.  Ukrainian concentrated missile attacks on 7/13/23

Washington DC, July 13.– The Institute for the Study of War (ISW), a U.S.-based think tank, said in its latest analysis of the conflict in Ukraine that geolocated footage and images indicate that Ukrainian forces targeted Russian logistics across the front line overnight and during the day on Wednesday, July 12.

The assessment came as Oleksiy Danilov, the secretary of Ukraine's Security and Defense Council, gave an update on Kyiv's counteroffensive, which seeks to wear down Moscow's forces and recapture Russian-occupied territory. He said Ukraine's focus was currently on destroying Russian equipment and personnel and that the past few days of fighting had been particularly "fruitful," without elaborating.
