Coming from diverse backgrounds, the president-elect’s Cabinet selections bring a variety of skills to the new government.
Washington DC, Jan.10 (DPnet).– President-elect Donald Trump has spent the weeks since his November 5th, 2024 election victory rolling out picks for top White House staff positions, ambassadors, and department heads to fill his incoming administration. He has swiftly announced his selections for his next Cabinet and key administration posts. The Cabinet mainly consists of the vice president, the leaders of 23 executive departments, and several other top positions. All permanent members of the Cabinet of the United States as heads of executive departments (among them 8 women) require the advice and consent of the United States Senate following appointment by the President before taking office.
The president may also designate heads of other agencies and non-Senate-confirmed members of the Executive Office of the President as Cabinet-level members of the Cabinet. The Cabinet meets with the president in the Cabinet Room, adjacent to the Oval Office. Trump’s selections come from diverse backgrounds, with many hailing from the business world outside Washington politics. Two of the nominees also come from across the political aisle, as former members of the Democratic Party.
Here is a brief overview of what Trump’s nominees will bring to the table in his second administration:

Dec. 27 (DPnet).– The Embraer (EMBR3.SA), passenger jet on Flight J2-8243 from Azerbaijan's capital Baku to Grozny, in Russia's southern Chechnya region, crashed on Wednesday in a ball of fire near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan after diverting from an area of southern Russia where Moscow has repeatedly used air defense systems against Ukrainian drone strikes.
Flight-tracking data from FlightRadar24.com said in an online post that the aircraft had faced “strong GPS jamming” which “ made the aircraft transmit bad ADS-B data”, referring to the information that allows flight-tracking websites to follow planes in flight. Russia has been blamed in the past for jamming GPS transmissions in the wider region.
Furthermore, one of the Azerbaijani sources familiar with Azerbaijan's investigation into the crash told Reuters that preliminary investigation results indicated that the plane was struck by a Russian Pantsir-S air defense system. Footage of the plane shows gaping holes in the fuselage, leading to further allegations that the aircraft was shot down by Russian antiaircraft weapons.
