The Chinese regime has assumed the power to decide who and how the Dalai Lama will be reincarnated!
If the Chinese Communist Party could stop the people of Tibet from praying, they would.
From the destruction of thousands of Tibetan Buddhist monasteries to preventing Tibetans from participating in religious events, China is trying to stifle Tibetan Buddhism completely.
As the world has been gathering in celebration of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s momentous 90th birthday, China has notably increased its efforts to vilify His Holiness, escalate persecution of Tibetans who revere him, and intensify its false propaganda machinery to claim the CCP’s right to control the succession of the Dalai Lama.
The CCP goes to great lengths in their false claim to authority in the selection of Tibetan Buddhist leaders, including in the future selection and appointment of a 15th “Dalai Lama.” This lays bare the acute absence of any legitimacy of its rule over Tibet and the failure to gain any support from the Tibetan people.
Here’s how to tell right from wrong when it comes to the process of identifying Tibetan Buddhist leaders, including the Dalai Lama:
R I G H T
In Tibetan Buddhism, it's believed that the Dalai Lama reincarnates as a child upon his passing. The reincarnation is identified by a centuries-old practice involving the interpretation of signs, prayer, and divination. His Holiness has stated that he will leave clear written instructions on succession and that his successor will be born in the "free world" and not anywhere in China. It is up to him alone to decide in his own reincarnation.
W R O N G
China has interfered with succession before. In 1955, the repressive authorities kidnapped the young boy identified as the Panchen Lama and disappeared him. Then, they installed their own sham "Panchen Lama" who has been rejected by the Tibetan people. Now, China is falsely claiming to have the authority in recognizing Tibetan reincarnate lamas and plotting to install their own future 15th Dalai Lama to succeed His Holiness. We must ensure the world knows to reject China's interference in the selection of Tibetan Buddhist leaders and the succession of the Dalai Lama.
