The Argentine courts have reopened a case against Evo Morales for human trafficking and child abuse.
The Federal Court revoked the filing of the complaint filed against the former Bolivian president during his stay as a political asylum seeker.
Buenos Aires, Apr.24.– The First Chamber of the Federal Court granted an appeal filed by the Apolo Foundation and ordered the reopening of the case against former
Bolivian President Evo Morales for alleged human trafficking and child abuse in Argentina during his political asylum. The court also recognized this foundation as a plaintiff in the case, thereby reversing the decision of the trial judge who had rejected both requests.
With the signatures of judges Pablo Bertuzzi, Leopoldo Bruglia, and Mariano Llorens, the court considered —on the one hand— that the dismissal of the case was "premature" and that the original complaint, along with its expansion, provides concrete information justifying a thorough investigation.
