Dharamsala, July 20.– The Dalai Lama defended religious freedom as freedom of thought while calling for an end to religious conflict in a special video message to the International Religious Freedom Summit in Washington, DC last week.
“We human beings, unlike other animals, we have this very sharp intelligence and also have the ability to visualize a long future,” he said. “So in that respect, the various different religious traditions develop. So religious freedom is actually in a way the freedom of our thought.”

Los misioneros, luego de un informe lanzado por las Misioneras de la Madre Laura de la Provincia de Medellín han realizado un llamamiento urgente, dirigido a las autoridades, destacando a la difícil situación de las comunidades indígenas, afroamericanas y campesinas del occidente del departamento de Antioquia, Colombia.

Hong Kong, July 11.– The United States and 20 other countries have issued a joint statement expressing concern about the current and future outlook of press freedom in Hong Kong.
The group of 21 governments—part of the “Media Freedom Coalition” that was established in 2019 to advocate for press freedom and the safety of journalists—pointed to the recent forced closure of Apple Daily, a major pro-democracy newspaper in Hong Kong, and the arrest of the paper’s staff.
