La persecución religiosa en este siglo no tiene precedentes en la historia

Iglesias católicas destruidasDic. 5 (DPnet).– Según Open Doors US, la persecución cristiana está en su nivel más alto de la historia. Por su parte, Aid to the Church in Need reporta que alrededor de 387 millones de cristianos en todo el mundo enfrentan discriminación y persecución por su fe y muchos de ellos viven en países que no reconocen la libertad religiosa. 

Entre los países donde es más aguda la persecución religiosa, se encuentran (en orden alfabético) China, Eritrea, Etiopía, India, Iran, Iraq, Líbano, Libia, Nicaragua, Nigeria, Norcorea, Paquistán, Malí, Siria, Somalia, Sudán, Vietnam y Yemen.

En algunos otros países, como en el caso de Cuba, la persecución está maquillada por una aparente tolerancia que se limita al culto en privado y en algunos templos, pero suele someter a los cristianos a distintos tipos de discriminación y hostigamiento.

Denuncia Naciones Unidas que Rusia tortura sistemáticamente a civiles y prisioneros de guerra ucranianos

La comisión internacional investigadora asegura que estos actos son "coordinados" entre personal de distintas dependencias estatales y estableció el "uso recurrente de la violencia sexual" en particular contra detenidos varones.

Intercambio de prisioneros de guerra Ucrania-RusiaGinebra, Sept.23.– La Comisión Internacional Independiente de Investigación para Ucrania, de la ONU, que indaga sobre los crímenes de guerra cometidos por los invasores rusos, dijo este lunes que ha reunido suficientes pruebas para señalar que las autoridades rusas hacen un uso sistemático de la tortura contra civiles y prisioneros de guerra ucranianos y que estos actos son "coordinados" entre personal de distintas dependencias estatales. 

En la presentación de su último informe ante el Consejo de Derechos Humanos de la ONU, el presidente de la comisión, Erik Mose, sostuvo que la tortura se practica en casi todos los centros de detención utilizados por Rusia en los territorios ucranianos bajo su control.

Church Bombings and Terrorist Attacks in the Democratic Republic of the Congo

With the growth of multiple Islamic extremist and rebel groups perpetrating violence, coupled with an ineffective, complicit, and corrupt government, Christians in the DRC are suffering from unprecedented persecution. This phenomenon is not limited to the DRC but is occurring in several neighboring sub-Saharan African countries as well. 

Aug. 17.– In a recent Voice of the Martyrs (VOM) Radio episode, Dr. David Kasali, founder and president of Congo Initiative, tells about recent attacks by the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), including one in which a man was murdered just for acknowledging his faith in Christ and another in which a church was bombed during worship services.

The Chinese government has been committing cultural genocide against the Tibetan people

For decades, China has aimed to attack & obliterate Tibetan culture.

Dharamsala, Aug.14 (DPnet).– The Chinese government is now targeting the children of Tibet, which is particularly heartbreaking because of the Chinese Communist Party's systematic and forcible separation of Tibetan children from their families and forcing them into boarding schools that alienate them from their culture.

Tibetan Children are separated from their families for months at a time, starting as young as age 4. Communist Party indoctrination in the schools is designed to complete the severing of connections to any aspect of being Tibetan.

They start in the morning telling them that Tibet has always been part of the Chinese motherland and Tibetans at large welcomed the People's Liberation Army invasion so that they may now live in peace. The fact is that independent scholars agree Tibet was a fully independent state for more than 2000 years until China invaded in 1950.

Religious affairs order requires adherence to Chinese Communist Party in Tibet since September 2023

Reporting from Dharamsala, July 26.– China has put into force a major religious affairs decree that will lead to strengthening Communist Party control over Tibetan Buddhism and further the objective of the religion’s “Sinification.”

Chinese state media announced that State Administration for Religious Affairs (SARA, known externally as the National Religious Affairs Administration) Order No. 19 “Administrative Measures for Religious Activity Venues” has come into force on Sept. 1, 2023. Simultaneously, Order No. 2 of the 2005 “Measures for Approval and Registration of the Establishment of Places of Religious Activities” has been repealed.
