Lima, Mar.1.– The National Prosecutor's Office requested 36 months of preventive detention against Pedro Castillo for allegedly leading a criminal organization in the modality of aggravated collusion and influence peddling. The initiative also falls to former ministers Juan Silva (Transportation and Communications) and Geiner Alvarado (Housing).
The Supreme Prosecutor Uriel Teran presented the request before the Supreme Court of Justice, after the Prosecutor's Office formalized the investigation against the former president on Tuesday, February 21.
Once the request has been submitted, Judge Juan Carlos Checkley Soria, head of the Supreme Court's preparatory investigation court, will announce the start of the hearing.
