Russia has cancelled an international air show after attacks inside the country in recent months, according to British intelligence.

Kyiv, July 2.– Ukraine is "preparing for a nuclear explosion" at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant and the situation there remains "very dangerous", a Ukrainian MP has said.

Speaking to Sky News, Kira Rudik said "we are getting much more worried" after Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned that a "serious threat" remains at the plant and claimed Russia was "technically ready" to provoke a localised explosion at the facility.

Moscow has dismissed any suggestion it plans to attack or sabotage the plant.

But Ms Rudik said: "I still cannot process that in the 21st century, this is what is happening. We are preparing for a nuclear explosion and the whole world is watching and there is nothing that can be done."

In another scenario of this same region, Russia has cancelled an international air show. Russia is very proud of its biennial MAKS international air show which was due to be held near Moscow between 25 and 30 July, writes Sky News's military analyst Sean Bell.

The prestigious event is hugely popular with the general public - who doesn't enjoy an air show? - and is also an important catalyst for aerospace trade deals.

But this year's event has been cancelled for the first time in its 30-year history.
