The bible makes a comeback in Bolivia with Jeanine Añez

La Paz, Nov.20.– Until last week, Evo Morales was the longest standing Latin American political leader in recent decades. Now, due to pressure from Bolivia’s armed forces and the police, he has been forced to resign, and to flee to Mexico where he is currently taking refuge. Interim president Jeanine Áñez, Christian opposition politician who has expressed a desire to reform the Bolivian political system, has replaced him.

Protests for and against Bolivia’s ex-president Evo Morales erupted after the declaration of the Supreme Court on the 26th of October, when they announced that Morales was the winner of the latest presidential elections and therefore there was no need to hold a second round. Reports of electoral fraud from the Organisation of American States (OEA) later indicated that there were “serious irregularities” throughout.

Morales, who would be completing his fourth term in office as the first indigenous president of Latin America, became a transnational symbol of the indigenous fight against neoliberalism, racism and extractivism in the region.

During his time in office, Morales integrated indigenous and peasant sectors of the population into the political sphere, and he successfully resisted the US policy of eradication of coca crops defending its traditional and medicinal use by Bolivia’s indigenous communities.

However, he ended un opening the doors to the extractivism and also weakened the mechanisms that guarantee democracy in the country in order to extend his presidential mandate. Trump's Impeachment Overshadows Dems' Debate

The Democratic electoral race is still fluid, but there have been few breakout moments on the ebate stage.

Washington DC, Nov. 20.– On the impeachment procedures under the guidance of Rep. Schiff, there were more pointed questions, carefully worded answers and perhaps Waiting for the candidates on the night of November 20, 2019dramatic disclosures on a nationally televised event this Wednesday that may eventually have major implications for the 2020 presidential campaign.

But today also, there's a Democratic presidential debate.

The fifth debate, in Atlanta, just happens to be the evening after scheduled testimony by diplomat Gordon Sondland, the person identified as having the most direct knowledge of President Donald Trump's efforts to get the Ukrainian government to announce an investigation of former Vice President Joe Biden and his son.

One killed in clashes in Iran over fuel price hike, rationing

Violent clashes in Sirjan, Iran Dubai, Nov. 16.- One person was killed in the Iranian city of Sirjan during protests that erupted after President Hassan Rouhani’s government imposed gasoline rationing and price hikes of at least 50%, Iranian ISNA news agency reported on Saturday.

The government announced on Friday that the price of a litre of regular gasoline would increased to 15,000 rials ($0.13 cents) from 10,000 rials and the monthly ration for each private car was set at 60 litres. Additional purchases would cost 30,000 rials per litre.

Trump's Impeachment procedures have been opened to the public this Tuesday morning

The House is holding the first public hearings of the impeachment probe, with two key diplomatic officials testifying before the Intelligence Committee.

  • Diplomat says aide heard Trump ask about "investigations" day after Ukraine call. 
  • Bill Taylor, the top U.S. diplomat in Ukraine, told the committee he recently learned a member of his staff overheard President Trump asking about "the investigations" the day after his July 25 call with the president of Ukraine.  Opening of the Trump's Impeachment procedures on 13 November 2019

Washington DC, Nov.13.– The top U.S. diplomat in Ukraine revealed new information about the events at the center of the House impeachment inquiry as the first open hearings before the House Intelligence Committee got underway Wednesday.

Bill Taylor, the chargé d'affaires at the U.S. embassy in Kiev, said in his opening statement that he recently learned about a conversation a member of his staff overheard between President Trump and Gordon Sondland, the U.S. ambassador to the E.U. The conversation supposedly took place on July 26, the day after the president's call with the Ukrainian president.

Alleged whistleblower Eric Ciaramella had extensive access in Trump White House

  • He was appointed and served under the Obama administration and has been for long suspected of attempting to damage President Trump's foreign policy from the inside. "He was Joe Biden's point man on Ukraine", reported Senator Rand Paul.
  • According to the Wall Street Journal, Burisma Holdings’ campaign to clean up its image in the West reached beyond the 2014 hiring of Hunter Biden, son of the then-U.S. vice president, to include other well-connected operatives in Washington.
  • Burisma hired well-connected operatives in Washington to help persuade Ukrainian prosecutors to drop criminal cases against it.

Washington, DC, Nov.12.– Eric Ciaramella, the alleged Ukraine whistleblower, was long suspected of deliberately attempting to damage President Trump's foreign policy from the inside and had access to policy information far beyond his regional expertise, according to former National Security Council officials.
