• The State Department linked several left-wing groups to Cuba’s global influence and warned that Cuba has infiltrated the highest levels of U.S. government.

Washington DC, July 21.– The State Department released a report on July 20 accusing Cuba of supporting left-wing groups in the United States and infiltrating the highest levels of the government.

The report states that the Cuban regime has conducted a “sustained campaign of subversion” against the United States for almost 70 years. The State Department released the report just days after U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio called for world leaders to take the threat of violent far-left groups seriously.

The State Department linked left-wing organizations such as Antifa, Code Pink, Communist Party USA, Democratic Socialists of America, the National Network on Cuba, and the National Lawyers Guild to the Cuban regime and detailed a plan certain left-wing organizations had for mobilizing in the event of U.S. military action against Cuba.

Antifa is a far-left extremist group that originated under the Soviet Union and functioned as the violent wing of Germany’s Communist Party to target political rivals.

Addressing Cuba’s efforts to engage in espionage and influence ideological movements in the United States, the State Department revealed, “a campaign that has infiltrated the highest reaches of the U.S. government, recruited and cultivated generations of American activists, backed an unprecedented wave of left-wing terrorism on American soil, and carried out one of the most durable and damaging foreign intelligence penetrations in American history.”
