Washington DC, Oct. 28 (DPnet).– The Washington Post withdraws endorsement from Kamala Harris. It will not endorse a candidate in the presidential race this cycle, breaking with a longtime tradition.
Publisher Will Lewis, in a memo to staffers, wrote that they “are returning to our roots of not endorsing presidential candidates.” The Washington Post follows the previous decision from the Los Angeles Times reversing their previous preferences.
Had the Post's announcement been made a year ago, it might not have caused such a stir. But 11 days before a consequential election, after years of calling Trump an unfit disgrace, its decision set off cold fury among Democratic Party followers.
Some sources say that Amazon chief Jeff Bezos, the Post CEO, forced the move in light of Trump's possible return to power.
