Swiss dreams in Nepal

Written by Kathmandu Post on 04 July 2017. Posted in Headlines.

Located between giant economies, Nepal has remained poor for centuries

Kathmandu, July 2.─ Switzerland has a highly specialised export economy consisting of banking, finance and tourism. Its neutrality is known globally. The two greatest features of Swiss foreign policy are neutrality and trade. Following this guideline, Switzerland developed rapidly, and today it is the most innovative European power with a high GDP and per capita income. Switzerland’s GDP is $664.7 billion and its population is 8.2 million (Nepal’s GDP is $20.8 billion and the population is 28.5 million). It has an area of 41,285 square kilometres, which is about two-thirds the size of Nepal. According to the Global Innovation Index 2016 developed by the World Intellectual Property Organisation, Switzerland tops the list of the most innovative countries followed by Sweden and United Kingdom.

How Switzerland achieved such enormous economic growth is a topic of debate and there is no perfect answer. Daron Acemoglu and James Robinson famously mentioned in their book Why Nations Fail that economic and political institutions need to be inclusive, but it is not definitive. Switzerland’s economic prosperity was inherited in the historical evolution process, and it is also due to political stability, direct democracy and neutrality. Nepal has just started discussing inclusiveness and participatory democracy.

Trump’s Opportunity to Arm Ukraine

Written by cetusnews.com on 30 June 2017. Posted in Headlines.

President Poroshenko at the White House How to promote freedom, advance U.S. interests, and show strength to Russia

Washington DC, June 29.─ President Trump’s trip to Poland next week is an exceptional opportunity to reassert U.S. leadership and American greatness. In Warsaw Mr. Trump can reaffirm the U.S. commitment to European security by giving Ukraine the weapons it urgently needs to defend itself against Russia’s continuing aggression.

Russia’s violations of the 2015 Minsk II accords grow daily in both number and intensity. Moscow has reconstituted four armies on Ukraine’s borders, rebuilt the Black Sea Fleet, created a powerful antiaccess and area-denial bubble in the Black Sea, militarized Ukrainian energy installations there, and prepared the logistical infrastructure for a major war with Ukraine, including potential amphibious operations in the South. It is building nuclear bunkers in Feodosiia and Sevastopol. The Russian military clearly regards large-scale, protracted conventional war, backed by mounting nuclear threats, to be a real possibility.

CNN falls into deep ethical crisis

Written by Democracia Participativa on 28 June 2017. Posted in Headlines.

After all, President Trump was right about "fake news"

Hidden camera reveal CNN's "fake news" Atlanta, June 28 (DP.net).─ An independent non-for-profit organization based in New York, devoted to «investigate and expose corruption, dishonesty, self-dealing, waste, fraud, and other misconduct in both public and private institutions in order to achieve a more ethical and transparent society» provoked a real media tsunami when exposed in a revealing video the procedure followed in the investigation of "fake news" in the media and the explosive results of its inquiries.

CNN's high echelon was manipulating news according to the revealing words of one of its members, John Bonifield, Supervising Producer, who confessed before a hidden camera about the alleged investigation on Russian meddling in US elections twisted to gain ratings, misrepresenting the news knowingly, without any credible evidence behind the allegations of its reporters and anchors.

In the wake of these events, CNN and other media reporters checkmated themselves after asking Sarah Huckabee about President Donald Trump’s allegations of claiming they’re fake news. Without a moment of pause Sarah delivered so much salty truth, while citing James O’Keefe’s Project Veritas videos that proves CNN's fake news. One reporter was so inflamed he shouted at Sarah wanting an apology for “inflaming” media critics… but failed. (see video next)

‘We Challenge Cuba’: Trump Changes Obama’s Deal

Written by CBS on 16 June 2017. Posted in Headlines.

Miami, June 16 (CBS).─ Surrounded by Cuban dissidents and U.S. lawmakers, President Donald Trump signed off on changes to the United States’ policy with Cuba – a move meant to empower the Cuban people as opposed to enriching the Castro regime.

The president had vowed to undo parts of President Barack Obama’s policy that restored relations with Cuba especially when it came to travel and business.

“I am cancelling the previous administration’s completely one-sided deal with Cuba,” said President Trump while in Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood. “Our policy will seek a much better deal for the Cuban people and for the United States of America…Our new policy begins with strictly enforcing U.S. law.”

The Earth does not belong to man, man belongs to the Earth. All things are connected like the blood that unites us all. Man did not weave the web of life, he is merely a strand in it. Whatever he does to the web, he does to himself.
