• Two days after the attacks against Guillermo Fariñas and the ladies in white José Daniel Ferrer was attacked by the State secutiry too
• According to sources from the MININT (Cuban Interior Ministry) consulted by UNPACU, Raul Castro has given personally the order to eliminate, by all means, the most active opposition, UNPACU and the Ladies in white, in a period of three months
• The repression and violence against “key” targets of the opposition have increased these last weeks with individuals given concrete orders of infiltration, instead of a massive police short-term repression strategy that has been going on since three years
• Despite the visit of the Foreign Minister of Spain, José Manuel García-Margallo and the trade negotiations launched with the European Union, Raul Castro gave the order to start the repression these last days

Stgo. de Cuba, Nov.27 (UNPACU/DP.net).─ UNPACU has been experiencing these last weeks an increase of violence that has been practiced using paramilitary citizens working for the state security. The main objective of this repression campaign is to cause fatal damage and cause harm to the opposition’s most active organizations, such as UNPACU, Ladies in White and Citizens for Democracy (CxD).

  Nov.6 (DP.net).─ Participatory Democracy Cultural Initiative (PDCI), as a participant of the goals promoted by the World Movement for Democracy (WMD) is glad to announce that Vietnamese dissident, Dr. Cu Huy Ha Vu, was liberated by the authorities of his country and left Vietnam in a direct flight to the United States.

The WMD orchestrated a campaign in favor of Dr. Vu including a Recent Alert dated October 24, 2014, revealing the repressive policies of the Vietnamese government. His only "crime" was a criticism of his government in an article published in the Voice of America. Previously he had been imprisoned in 2011 for making public demands for democratic reform and organizing activists in peaceful opposition to the Hanoi's dictatorial government.

Other former Vietnamese prisoners of conscience are not so lucky.

  México, Sept.9.─ Karla Janeth Silva nunca supo nada de protocolos de seguridad. “Creo que todos los periodistas vivimos día a día pensando que podemos correr peligro, pero después lo olvidamos, porque estamos demasiado ocupados en nuestras tareas. Debemos hacer un esfuerzo para formarnos y saber con qué herramientas contamos para protegernos”. Silva tiene 24 años, es mexicana y el pasado jueves tres hombres irrumpieron en la oficina del diario en que trabaja para propinarle una paliza.

Se encontraba sola con una compañera. Ellas dos conforman la corresponsalía de El Heraldo de León en Silao, un municipio de 173.000 vecinos dedicado a la producción agrícola e industrial en el Estado central de Guanajuato. “Habían ido antes preguntando por mí, pero no estaba”, dice. Le patearon la cabeza, los brazos, las piernas. Una imagen difundida en las redes sociales después de la agresión muestra su rostro cubierto de sangre. Desde la redacción, Silva fue trasladada a la comisaría y de allí al hospital, donde estuvo casi un día ingresada.

The impact has been particularly grave for women and children, whose most basic rights are being infringed daily.

Describing the conflict in Syria as “outrageous in its disregard for accepted international norms”, Pinheiro and his fellow commissioners have recorded hundreds of atrocities, including scores of massacres, committed by all sides.

Members of the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) committed torture, murder, acts tantamount to enforced disappearance, and forcible displacement as part of an attack on the civilian population in Aleppo and Ar Raqqah governorates, amounting to crimes against humanity.
