The International Campaign for Tibet issued a recent in-depth report drawing international attention to the Chinese government's demolition of an important Buddhist Institute  

"Shadow of dust across the sun: how tourism is used to counter Tibetan cultural resilience" is a recent ICT report that reveals how the demolitions and expulsions at Larung Gar and Yachen Gar in the past six months are part of an unfolding political strategy involving more aggressive measures in order to curb and manage the growing influence and number of monks and nuns at these important monastic centers of study and Buddhist ethics in eastern Tibet, the largest such institutes in the world.

‘Shadow of Dust across the Sun’ is informed by first-hand sources and eyewitness testimony. A new round of demolitions began at Larung Gar in July 2016 as part of the Chinese Communist Party's drive to extinguish Tibetan cultura. The destruction of homes occupied by monks and nuns was originally scheduled to be completed by September 2017. However, a recenly accelerated pace may finish this ruinous project by the end of July.

Prisoner of conscience, Tashi Wangchuk, has been detained for over a year and has yet to be informed by Chinese authorities of the charges against him.

Tashi Wangchuk was first detained on 27 January 2016 and formally arrested in March 2016 on suspicion of “inciting separatism”, which carries a penalty of up to 15 years in prison. According to the document submitted by the police to the Procuratorate (Prosecutor), and reviewed by defense lawyers in September 2016, the central evidence against him is based on a short documentary produced by The New York Times in 2015.

The Procuratorate resubmitted the case to the Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture Intermediate People’s Court in early January 2017, however Tashi Wangchuk has still not received information about the formal indictment or the charges against him. According to the judge presiding over the case, the court is currently verifying the evidence and negotiating with the Procuratorate, and therefore would not deliver the indictment to him as the charge may be changed.

Tashi Wanchuk is an advocate for greater Tibetan language education in schools in Tibetan populated areas. Currently, Mandarin has become the sole language of instruction. He expressed on social media his anxieties about many Tibetan children being unable to speak their native language fluently, as well as the gradual extinction of Tibetan culture.

Hoy en España, el lenguaje y el discurso público adoptan rígidos patrones de corrección política que expulsan del sistema a quienes osan utilizar las expresiones proscritas. 

Hoy en España, con la excusa de la “no discriminación”, la ciencia y la razón se sustituyen por ideologías que alteran el significado de la realidad.

Hoy en España, la defensa de los derechos de las minorías se convierte en algunas ocasiones en pretexto para imponer políticas contrarias a los derechos fundamentales, como las libertades de pensamiento y de expresión.

Hoy en España, la libertad desaparece sepultada por los intereses de grupos no elegidos democráticamente que, convertidos en lobbies, terminan imponiendo sus dogmas particulares.
