ILO Releases a Guide to Designing Labor Laws

The International Labor Organization (ILO) has released a guide to designing labor laws, the Effective Protection for Domestic Workers, which is intended to be a practical resource for worker and employer representatives and government officials. The guide provides specific procedures and examples drawn from a range of existing national labor laws concerning domestic workers. It also discusses different approaches to regulating domestic work, the nature and characteristics of domestic work, forms of employment relationships that may exist and their implications for regulation, among other topics.
