| The Asociación para el Estudio de la Economía Cubana (ASCE) brings together every year in Miami, FL, dozens of economists, sociologists, political scientists, and other scholars converging from many other states and other countries, a practice that has been in place for several decades, to study the problems plaguing the Cuban economy and destabilizing its social structure to propose viable and effective solutions, which, unfortunately, have never been recognized or implemented by the Cuban regime. |
ASCE meets at its 2025 Annual Conference:
"Recovering Cuba"
From October 24 to 25, 2025, at Florida International University, we brought together scholars, economists, and practitioners for two days of insightful debate, research presentations, and meaningful exchanges on Cuba’s economic and social realities—centered around the theme Recovering Cuba.
In this issue, you’ll find highlights recognizing the main contributions of our ASCE members, recent publications, and member interviews that continue the dialogue on Cuba’s evolving economic, political, and cultural landscape, along with other news of interest.
As always, we invite you to stay connected, share your work with us, and help us strengthen ASCE’s mission of fostering informed discussion on Cuba and the region. Stay tuned—we’ll share more insights and memories from this year’s conference in the next Happenings issue!
Warmly,
Denisse Delgado
