Washington DC, Mar.21.– The head of homeland security said Wednesday that US elections remain a prime target for Russian meddling — but insisted that her team was making progress to prevent more hack attacks.
The 2018 midterms are “clearly potential targets for Russian hacking attempts,” Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen told the Senate Intelligence Committee, according to CNN.
“We know whom to contact in every state to share threat information. That capability did not exist in 2018.”
