To answer this question, Hillsdale College has created a FREE online video series on the history of

In this online video series, filmed during a conference recently held at Hillsdale College, you’ll learn why we need intelligence and how it is used against American citizens and duly elected leaders.

The CIA—originally founded as the OSS—was created in the aftermath of Pearl Harbor to help protect America from foreign threats. But in the last few decades, this agency…
  • FAILED to foresee the 9/11 attack and then took over a decade to find Osama Bin Ladin
  • COVERED for the Obama administration after the assault on our embassy in Benghazi that led to four American deaths
  • THREATENED the sovereignty of the American people with the Russia collusion hoax
  • FAILED to warn Americans about COVID-19
  • HID the origins of the Hunter Biden laptop and declared it Russian disinformation
America’s Founders would not recognize this notorious intelligence agency.

We still need intelligence to help protect us from foreign threats. We needed it in the aftermath of Pearl Harbor, and we need it even more today.  But in recent years, the CIA served its own interests…not those of the American people.  And so it was no surprise that anyone in power who went after the CIA was soon not in power.

You might remember when New York Senator Chuck Schumer told MSNBC, “Let me tell you, you take on the intelligence community, they have six ways from Sunday at getting back at you.”  Whether or not Schumer meant to make such a revealing statement, it is further evidence that you and I live in a country in which powerful government agencies rarely operate according to the consent of the governed.

How did we get to this point? And how can we reform the CIA and our other intelligence agencies?

I invite you to learn more about this critical topic through our free video series, U.S. Intelligence: History and Controversies. You can receive instant access to this series right now using this secure link:
