The Last Summit - a different movie

A new film titled THE LAST SUMMIT has been released in Europe to a great acclaim in the local media of several European cities. This is a documentary about Pablo Dominguez, a priest from Madrid, Spain who died in an accident in February 2009 as he was descending a mountain called Moncayo in the Spanish Pyrinees. He was 42.

Today it’s quite difficult to find in the media anything positive about catholic priests. In contrast, there is a large volume of information, often very exhaustive and detailed, about priests who have grossly deviated from Christian doctrine and morals. We know almost everything about them, thanks to the work done by many journalists, script-writers and film directors.

THE LAST SUMMIT shows a kind of priest that no one talks about these days: the generous, cheerful, helpful and humble priest. Priests that serve God while serving others. Pablo is no more and no less that a good priest. The most striking feature of this documentary is to find how Pablo left a deep mark in the lives of many. But this is not a boring, "religious", film. It is a film about human nature, life and death. In many respects it is a documentary that achieves the almost impossible goal of keeping the audience in a state of suspense during the 70 minutes that it lasts. And to come out of the theater moved by a new perspective about our goals in life.

After having seen how THE LAST SUMMIT has moved the many who’ve watched it in Europe, both Christians and Non-Christian’s alike, I invite you to watch the film and to share the experience with friends and acquaintances. It has only been shown to small audiences in the United States, in places such as the Florida International University, in Miami-Dade, Florida. These films seldom reach a wider audience because commercial and secular interests shun them. But people have a say and may move mountains if they act. There is a petition that you can fill and send for the film to be shown in your area. Just visit www.laultimacima.com/es/#quieres_estreno and fill the form. This documentary cannot be purchased in DVD because the producers are trying very hard to have it at movie theaters.

If you want to find out more about the film (where to watch it, reviews, etc) visit the website:

I just watched the movie at the John Paul II International Film Festival, and is truly amazing!.
